Characteristic of the pattern of Buncheong Celadon is vitality. Peony, peony leaf, peony tendril, lotus flower, willow, chrysanthemum, tendril, honeysuckle, plantain, fish, fish dragon, and flower/bird patterns were mostly used and butterfly, apricot, rain-drop, and Buddhism tool patterns were also used. Especially, recomposition of patterns and abstract modification shows the artistic excellence of potters in Choseon Age. Patterns of Buncheong Celadon are mostly expressed in plane rather than in line. Although stamping, inlay, and flower-carving patterns are small entities but they display a black bottom in group and thin film and plain-inlay patterns form plain by themselves.

Patterns of Buncheong Celadon may be divided into main pattern and subsidiary pattern: main pattern is recomposed with demonstration of the meaning of a fact and with bold omission and modification and subsidiary pattern stylize them graphically. Materials of patterns used in decoration are diverse: not only natural materials such as flowers, birds, and fishes but also abstract lines of flower-carving and small and styled repeating patterns of flower-carving belong to this category. There are the ones with simple shape and elaborated carvings and the ones with tough and rough shape and simple and free expression: the vital and broad-mind, and non-figurative and abstract expression may be found in modern painting works. Patterns of Buncheong Celadon may be largely classified into plant patterns and animal patterns and the whole of nature is well understood and expressed with characteristics of each entity. Buncheong Celadon shows freedom, innocence, and simple purity, thus, demonstrates of the property and craftsman spirit of our people.

It is a small bottle that is produced by hitting front and back sides after molding with potter's wheel and a feeling of round massiveness is remained. Whole faces except foot, lower body, and mouth area are brushing decorated with white soil. Front face and back face have peony tendril pattern with beautiful flowers and leaves, side faces have tendril pattern and lotus leaf pattern, and shoulder has thin film of lotus leaf pattern. Height, 21cm; mouth diameter, 6cm, and bottom diameter, 7.5cm. Possessed by National Museum of Korea.

Iron-decoration Buncheong Celadon has the characteristic that pattern is boldly omitted and recomposed so as to express simple and extraordinary picture: it has a feeling of freshness and vitality because the picture was drawn with rapidly moving brush. It has a bold and simple stroke of the brush and well expresses the figure of fishes playing in lotus lake. It has the common shape of the period from 16th Century to 17th Century. It was produced in an oven at the foot of Gyeryong Mt. in Hagbong-ri Banpo-myeon Gongju-gun Chungnam. Height, 26.8cm; mouth diameter, 6.6cm, and bottom diameter, 7.7cm.
