Overview of the Project

Overview

Support for households (or individuals) in need of support in terms of livelihood, housing and medical treatment due to unexpected crisis (e.g. loss of income due to the death of the primary income earner, severe illness or injury or crime victimization) Support includes livelihood, housing, and medical aid.

Eligibility

Foreign residents residing within the jurisdiction and facing sudden crisis (Foreign residents residing within the jurisdiction: Foreigners legally staying in Gimhae City for 90 days or more).

Support

  • Livelihood Support: Monetary support such as expenses for food and clothing for households facing difficulty in maintaining their livelihood.
  • Housing Support: Temporary housing and expenses for those providing temporary housing to households that are in need of housing expenses (In cases where providing expenses directly to the provider is difficult, the expenses may be directly paid to the applicant).
  • Medical Support: Medical expenses for individuals hospitalized due to severe illness or injury (Support for childbirth-related expenses available if accompanied by an illness.
  • Other: Additional support as needed (Institutions or organizations recommended).

Support Period

All year round.

Eligibility

  • Income: Standard median income at the 90th percentile or below
  • General Assets: (2023) KRW 182,400,000 or below
  • Financial Assets: (2023) KRW 7.2 million or below

Aid

  • Living Expenses: (1-person households) KRW 490,000, (4-person households) KRW 1.3 million
  • Housing Expenses: (1~2-person households) KRW 299,100
  • Medical Expenses: 90% of out-of-pocket expenses (Up to KRW 1 million)
  • Others: Up to KRW 500,000

Application Period & Application Process

Processing Period

Within 10 days from the submission of the application documents.

Processing Procedures

Application submission and acceptance (at the relevant eup or myeon administrative welfare center or the Women and Family Department) → Application review and on-site survey (Women and Family Department) → Assessment and determination of eligibility for support (Women and Family Department) → Support funds paid (Women and Family Department).

Application Period

  • January 1, 2023 ~ Until the budget runs out
  • Can apply within 180 days of an emergency situation
