Group folk game for two groups competing for victory by pulling a rope.

Julddaenggigi is a traditional folk tug of war game played between two teams at opposite ends of a rope, each team trying to drag the other across a centre line. The game is play in its traditional form still to this day in Gimhae. It is one of the key events in Gaya Cultural Festival and it is participated by the citizens, multi-cultural families and foreign visitors. The rope is made out of straws and can be about 100m long. After the game ends, the winners would cut and take pieces of their section of the rope and, put them over their roofs, hang them on their doors, use them to wrap the sacred, guardian trees and even feed them to their cattle. People believed that the rope would bring good luck and chase away evil spirits so even to this, people take pieces based on this folk belief and for a little bit of fun.
