Gimhae Arts and Sports Center

Gimhae Cultural Foundation

Gimhae Cultural Foundation was founded on February 4, 2005 to promote cultural and artistic activities, improve the quality of citizens' cultural life and increase cultural welfare in Gimhae. Running various cultural facilities like Gimhae Arts and Sports Center, West Gimhae Culture Center, Clayarch Gimhae Museum, Gimhae Gaya Theme Park, Gimhae Nakdonggang River Rail Park, Gimhae Astronomical Observatory, Gimhae Hanok Experience Hall and Gimhae Citizens Bell and, carrying out various cultural policy projects as well as cultural urban development projects, the Foundation is developing into a total cultural foundation that covers the overall cultural industries including performance, exhibition, cultural policy, cultural arts education, sports and tourism industries in Gimhae. The Foundation provides the citizens opportunities to enjoy culture and serves as a cultural platform for freely learning, sharing and creating cultural content.

Gimhae Crafts Association

Founded in 2006, Gimhae Crafts Association is the leading private crafts organization in Gimhae and it is comprised of about 40 ceramics, metal craft, wood craft, paper craft and textile craft artists. It organizes the Gimhae Crafts Association Exhibition and Gimhae Crafts Exhibition and it also visits schools to offer craft education to the students. It has also supported the city of Gimhae to be selected as the Outstanding Organization at the Gyeongnam Crafts Exhibition for 21 consecutive years.

Gimhae Ceramics Association

Founded in 1989, Gimhae Ceramics Association is a private organization that has been leading the ceramics culture and industry in Gimhae. Gimhae Ceramics Association which is comprised of about 90 members, currently organizes ceramics-related festivals and events like Gimhae Buncheong Ceramics Festival and the Korea Buncheong Ceramics Festival. It also manages Gimhae Buncheong Ceramics Museum and Gimhae Support Center for Small Ceramics Manufacturers and, gives the citizens, especially the children and youth opportunities to learn about and experience ceramics culture and techniques.

Gimhae Folk Arts Preservation Society

Gimhae Folk Arts Preservation Society is a private organization founded in 1986 and its 200 or so members currently work to preserve and develop our traditional folk arts including Gimhae Ogwangdae, Gimhae Seokjeonnori, Nongak, traditional dances, daegeum and folk songs. It has preserved Gimhae Ogwangdae and contributed to having it designated as Gyeongsangnam-do Intangible Cultural Asset No. 37. Gimhae Folk Arts Preservation Society promotes our traditional arts by offering training for the general public and students as well as by holding various festivals and events.

The Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organization of Korea Gimhae Branch

The Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organization of Korea Gimhae Branch is a private organization founded in 1990. It is a federation of 8 artistic organizations (Gugak, dance, literature, arts, photography, theater, entertainment and music) and its 780 or so members are trying their utmost to contribute to the development of Gimhae's arts and cultures. It holds the Gimhae Art Festival, Suro National Youth Entertainment Concert and Art For All Festival and also runs a gallery.

Gyeongnam Korean People Artist Federation - Gimhae Branch

Gyeongnam Korean People Artist Federation - Gimhae Branch is a private organization founded in 2011 and it is comprised of about 450 members working in the fields of theater, dance, Gugak, music, arts and literature. It carries out research on and develops Gimhae's cultural policies and, trains cultural arts experts. By holding various cultural events like the Gaya Martial Arts Festival and Gimhae National Art Festival, it offers citizens the opportunities to share and experience the colorful world of culture and arts.

Crafts Cooperatives

In Gimhae, there are 17 crafts cooperatives for ceramics, furniture, jewelery, clothing, accessories and traditional Gyubang crafts and new cooperatives are formed every year. The members of co-ops purchase supplies together and produce and sell artworks together as well. The members also collaborate on training, exhibitions and promotional activities. The artists with difference expertise create synergy collaborating with each other and produce more creative work.
