Purpose of the Project

To establish an institutional mechanism to provide minimal financial support to citizens (including registered foreigners) who have been impacted by sudden disasters or accidents in their everyday lives.

Overview

Compensations are paid for deaths, permanent disabilities or injuries caused by 8 types of accidents

Coverage

1. Social Disasters (not including communicable diseases): KRW 10 million in case of death.
2. Natural Disasters (including heatstroke): KRW 10 million in case of death.
3. Water Accidents: KRW 10 million in case of death.
4. Accidents Involving Public Transportation and Chartered Buses: KRW 10 million in case of death / Up to KRW 10 million in case of permanent disabilities.
5. Explosions, Fires, Collapse, Landslides: KRW 10 million in case of death / Up to KRW 10 million in case of permanent disabilities.
6. Accidents Involving Farming Machinery: KRW 10 million in case of death / Up to KRW 10 million in case of permanent disabilities.
7. Dog Bites: KRW 100,000 in case the patient has visited the emergency room and received treatment after a dog bite.
8. Traffic Accidents in School Zones: Up to KRW 10 million for treatment expenses for children aged 12 or under.

Note

1. In terms of foreigners, their foreigner registration certificates must have an address in Gimhae.
2. The insurance is renewed after year in February. For more information, contact the Citizen Safety Department.
